REAL CONVERSION WILL BE NEEDED!

“REAL CONVERSION WILL BE NEEDED!”

PRE-AMBLE by Robert

Our world for discerning Christians who have faith in the heart that Yeshua is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God these days is becoming a dangerous place. We are witnesses to Churches being razed and burned to the ground around the world.

Over the last few years, the flock has been warned these days were coming and to be prepared for what eventually will come to pass. What we are witnessing is the subtle beginning of the persecutions about to come. last few years, the flock has been warned these days were coming and to be prepared for what eventually will come to pass. What we are witnessing is the subtle beginning of the persecutions about to come.

In the days ahead the persecutions will become more intense until they reach the intensity of being dictatorial and possibly deadly as it is in other areas of the world.

In Canada there is speculation the federal gov’t is already setting internment camps under the guise of isolation due to the Pandemic Covid-19.

The time has come to begin your assessment and commitment to our Lord, as it will soon be under attack and tested to its fullest.

1 John 4:10

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

OPENING STATEMENT by Robert

Matthew Henry commentary gives us a look at what should be in our hearts when we take a moment and look at our walk and commitment if it is sincere or just mouth profession? Have we become complacent in our commitment?

Do the following words when spoken in our minds conjure up the thought here, we go again, I have heard this before I know the Father sent His Son to bring Salvation to me. I find it quite interesting how Matthew Henry explains the first sentence because seldom do you hear this explanation. “

“The Father sent the Son; He willed his coming into this world (usually we hear he sent). The apostle attests to this. And whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

This confession includes faith in the heart as the foundation; makes acknowledgment with the mouth to the glory of God and Christ, and profession in the life and conduct, against the flatteries and frowns of the world.

There must be a day of universal judgment. Happy those who shall have holy boldness before the Judge at that day; knowing he is their Friend and Advocate!

Happy those who have holy boldness in the prospect of that day, who look and wait for it, and for the Judge’s appearance! True love to God assures believers of God’s love to them.

Love teaches us to suffer for him and with him; therefore, we may trust that we shall also be glorified with him, 2 Timothy 2:12. We must distinguish between the fear of God and being afraid of him; the fear of God imports high regard and veneration for God.

I hear a caution here for those so busy in making sure they have sustenance on their table know of God’s power and the teachings to fear but in the hustle of the world slip into being afraid of God, losing sight of his love and grace for us.

Obedience and good works, done from the principle of love, are not like the servile toil of one who unwillingly labours from dread of a master’s anger.

They are like that of a dutiful child, who does services to a beloved father, which benefit his brethren, and are done willingly. It is a sign that our love is far from perfect, when our doubts, fears, and apprehensions of God, are many.

Let heaven and earth stand amazed at his love. He sent his word to invite sinners to partake of this great salvation. Let them take the comfort of the happy change wrought in them, while they give him the glory.

The love of God in Christ, in the hearts of Christians from the Spirit of adoption, is the great proof of conversion. This must be tried by its effects on their temper, and their conduct to their brethren. If a man professes to love God, and yet indulges anger or revenge, or shows a selfish disposition, he gives his profession the lie.

But if our natural enmity is changed into affection and gratitude, let us bless the name of our God for this seal and earnest of eternal happiness. Then we differ from the false professors, who pretend to love God, whom they have not seen, yet hate their brethren, whom they have seen.

Justification by faith in Christ is a plain doctrine. It is brought before the mind and heart of everyone, thus leaving him without excuse for unbelief. If a man confessed faith in Jesus, as the Lord and Saviour of lost sinners, and really believed in his heart that God had raised him from the dead, thus showing that he had accepted the atonement.

He should be saved by the righteousness of Christ, imputed to him through faith. But no faith is justifying which is not powerful in sanctifying the heart and regulating all its affections by the love of Christ.

We must devote and give up to God our souls and our bodies: our souls in believing with the heart, and our bodies in confessing with the mouth. The believer shall never have cause to repent his confident trust in the Lord Jesus. Of such faith no sinner shall be ashamed before God; and he ought to glory in it before men.

When we speak of looking upon Christ, and receiving, and feeding upon him, it is not Christ in heaven, nor Christ in the deep, that we mean; but Christ in the promise, Christ offered in the word. Justification by faith in Christ is a plain doctrine.

It is brought before the mind and heart of everyone, thus leaving him without excuse for unbelief. If a man confessed faith in Jesus, as the Lord and Saviour of lost sinners, and really believed in his heart that God had raised him from the dead, thus showing that he had accepted the atonement, he should be saved by the righteousness of Christ, imputed to him through faith.

CLOSING COMMENTS by Robert

The believer shall never have cause to repent his confident trust in the Lord Yeshua (Jesus). Of such faith no sinner shall be ashamed before God; and he ought to glory in it before men.

True love for the people of God, may be distinguished from natural kindness or party attachments, by its being united with the love of God, and obedience to his commands.

The same Holy Spirit that taught the love, will have taught obedience also; and that man cannot truly love the children of God, who, by habit, commits a sin or neglects known duty.

As God’s commands are holy, just, and good rules of liberty and happiness, so those who are born of God and love him, do not count them grievous, but lament that they cannot serve him more perfectly. Self-denial is required, but true Christians have a principle which carries them above all hindrances.

Though the conflict often is sharp, and the regenerate may be cast down, yet he will rise and renew his combat with resolution. But all, except believers in Christ, are enslaved in some respect or other, to the customs, opinions, or interests of the world.

Faith is the cause of victory, the means, the instrument, the spiritual armour by which we overcome. In and by faith we cleave to Christ, in contempt of, and in opposition to the world.

Faith sanctifies the heart and purifies it from those sensual lusts by which the world obtains sway and dominion over souls. It has the indwelling Spirit of grace, which is greater than he who dwells in the world.

The real Christian overcomes the world by faith; he sees, in and by the life and conduct of the Lord Jesus on earth, that this world is to be renounced and overcome. He cannot be satisfied with this world, but looks beyond it, and is still tending, striving, and pressing toward heaven. We must all, after Christ’s example, overcome the world, or it will overcome us to our ruin.

As the world becomes more and more at odds with those within our Lords flock. We must in all things remember how powerful Faith is in assisting us to break away from those soothing, comforting and convenient temptations we live with daily.

God is “a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness” (Psalm 86:15). Like all of God’s attributes, His compassion is infinite and eternal. His compassions never fail; they are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

When you have faith and courage of an obedient [child of God] to lead in Yeshua’s name, without fear, many will follow your light.
